Description
This design replaced the old Britannia design in 2008 as the new reverse of definitive coins for the United Kingdom and from 2015 the 5th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark was used.
This coin, when arranged with the other small denomination definitive coins, will make up part of the Royal Shield.
In 2021 and 2022, Tooth Fairy gift sets were released, the 2022 edition was a special strike with a star privy mark.
Also in 2022, another special strike was issued with the 26/22 privy mark, this was to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, with the numbers representing her birth and death years (1926 - 2022).
