This coin was part of the 2006 annual coin set, it was also stuck for circulation. This is one of 2 coins released to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Victoria Cross.
The coin was available in BU, silver and gold. In 2009 the design was re-struck to be included in the 40th Anniversary of the 50 Pence coin set and the 50th anniversary set in 2019, however this issue used the 5th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
