Description
This coin was issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the first 4 minute mile by Roger Bannister. The coin was included in the 2004 annual coin sets and was also released into circulation.
The design was re-struck in 2009 for the 40th anniversary of the 50 pence and again in 2019 for the 50th anniversary but this one used the 5th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin was available in BU, silver and gold editions.
