This was one of the first coins to be issued under the reign of King Charles III. It was released on Monday 3rd October 2022 to commemorate the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II. It was available in unlimited supply until 31st December 2022.
The coin was also confirmed for circulation in December 2022 with a mintage of 9.6 million to commemorate The Queen's age at her death which was 96.
The coin was also struck in silver proof, silver piedfort, gold proof, gold piedfort and platinum proof.
